Description
Juvenile Bull Elk Grazing
In northeastern Pennsylvania's Elk County there is a small town, Benezette, that is a wonderful place to view wild elk herds in their own environment. In the fall the male elk, otherwise known as bull elk or bulls, display their alters. This young bull elk was grazing in a field under an apple tree when I noticed him.
Elk are also known as wapiti which means "light-colored deer".
