Sleepy Snowy owl
With the influx of snowy owls in the Northern US a friend and I went in search of these majestic creatures in the Rochester, NY area. We had an amazing experience when we spotted this owl on the Summerville Pier. At first in the distance it looked like a larger snow pile that was slightly different but as we got closer we identified it as a snowy owl and I was able to capture this moment with a stunning yellow eye looking back at me. This is the owl that started all of my interest in birding, specifically for other owls and other raptors.
